Table to Markdown makes it easy to convert cells from Microsoft Excel, Google Sheet, LibreOffice Calc, or any modern spreadsheet application, into Markdown.
How it works
- Pandoc seemed a little complicated to me and would have to understand another software just to get this simple task done. I used Typora to do this task. I was able to just copy the tables directly from MS Excel into the WYSIWYG editor of Typora and it will automatically generate Markdown code for the same.
- Find the text to convert to Markdown (e.g., in another browser tab) Copy it to the clipboard (Ctrl+C, or ⌘+Con Mac) Paste it into this window (Ctrl+V, or ⌘+Von Mac) The converted Markdown will appear!
- GFM Markdown table syntax is quite simple. It does not allow row or cell spanning as well as putting multi-line text in a cell. The first row is always the header followed by an extra line with dashes '-' and optional colons ':' for forcing column alignment.
